Adare Village & Heritage Centre

With a reputation as one of Ireland’s prettiest villages, Adare is sure to astound. This picturesque village is encased in a veil of history and just one look around at the ancient structures and architecture will transport you back in time to olden Ireland. There are an array of historical buildings such as the beautiful, historic and operating Holy Trinity Abbey church and Desmond Castle. These relics are open to the public to visit and bask in their countries history. Tours of the 13th century Norman Castle operate daily from June to the end of September. The history of this location goes back hundreds of years.

In the heart of the village is a pretty oasis and gathering place in the shape of a public park. The land for this beautiful park, like most of the village, was once part of the massive Dunraven estate. You can enjoy Adare’s rich heritage with a guided walking tour by James Cavanagh of Adare Walking Tours or Adare Heritage Walking Tours. Adare’s Friday Market takes place every Friday at the Village Hall.

Adare has two 18-hole golf courses and a pitch and putt course all within walking distance from the village. Along with the Heritage Centre, Adare village boasts an array of unique ladies boutiques. Why not stop for a bite to eat and discover the history of this beautiful village in the many shops and exhibitions the heritage centre has to offer.

Adare Country Pursuits provides a range of exhilarating outdoor activities including Falconry, Archery and Gundog Training on the beautiful grounds of Adare Manor. The river Maigue flows through the lush countryside of Adare parish. It runs alongside the village of Adare and offers great river fishing opportunities.
